Drive awareness and increase social media engagement

When working with Yorkshire Tea we soon realised that there wasn't a social media icon for Tea. People were using coffee or drinks icons or writing tea. This felt like a miss for tea drinkers and we launched a campaign to get an Emoji in place. This mean't writing to the Emoji council formally and lobbying online. Stirring up demand for Tea.

I created plans for a connection of channels that we could exploit, to make the most of the coming emoji launch

The Emoji council said yes

Once the council had approved the need for a Tea emoji we got everything ready for a responsive campaign. Emojis get released with IOS updates on phones but precise dates are never given. So we put together a campaign that could strike around the predicted launch time. This involved a co-ordinated multi channel plan with overlapping messaging and consist branding. We made the creative simple, flexible and striking across all formats. The aim to brand the emoji as a Yorkshire Tea symbol in the minds of the tea drinking audience.
